PBS Hawaii TV Special - Emma Veary - 2011

Emma Veary, the Golden Voice of Hawaii, returns to PBS Hawaii for the television premiere of Hawaiian Airlines Presents Na Mele: Emma Veary at Halekulani on Sunday, June 5 at 7:00 pm. PBS Hawaii cameras recorded in April a one time performance of the celebrated vocalist at Halekulani's House Without A Key, the elegant venue where Emma headlined forty years ago. The magical evening recaptured the golden age of Waikiki as Emma performed the original songlist of her 1970s show. Accompanied by virtuoso pianist Randy Hongo, Emma performed a few songs with daughter Robyn Knuebuhl, a composer, singer, dancer; and harpist Nyle Hallman. Second daughter K. Noelani Bennette joined her sister in hula. Veteran entertainers Roland and Robert Cazimero, Nina Keali`iwahamana, Beverly Noa and Tony Conjugacion honored Emma with tributes and onstage performances. Borges sang a final musical tribute. Join co-hosts Leslie Wilcox & Harry B. Soria, Jr. for this special studio pledge drive presentation.
