39th Anniversary Show

On June 13, 1979, the radio program, Territorial Airwaves, went on the air.
Originally broadcasting in tandem with the Honolulu Skylark on 1420 AM KCCN, Station Aloha, from 1979 to 1986.
Then in tandem with Keaumiki Akui on KCCN, 1420 AM, from 1986 to 1999.
Finally, we’ve been a solo act since 1999.
Yes, 39 years and Territorial Airwaves is still your source for the history of Hawaiian music.
And with this show, we also begin our 40th year, edging ever closer to equaling the historic “Hawaii Calls” radio program as the longest consecutively running Hawaiian Radio broadcast in history.
Today, we’ll share some of our favorite recordings from the past 39 years of Territorial Airwaves.
