Ray Kinney

Raymond Leimona Kinney was born in Kaumana, on the Big Island of Hawaii, on September 26, 1901, and we lost him in Honolulu, on February 1, 1972.
Ray began his professional career in 1915, at the age of 15.
By the 1920s, he was a member of the David Burrows Trio in Honolulu.
In 1934, he was the 1st featured singer for Harry Owens at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel.
From 1938 through 1942, his orchestra starred at the Hawaiian Room of the Hotel Lexington in New York City.
The ultimate Hawaiian tenor, he recorded extensively.
